New York April 14 Five persons badly hurt and 50 others narrowly escaped death as a seven story sweat shop building at 127 131 Hester street burned destroying the structure and damaging nearby buildings. Explosion Aboard President’s Yacht Sylph Off Virginia Capes
The Morgan Line steamship Eli Cid towed the president’s yacht Sylph into Hampton Roads after an explosion aboard the vessel near the Virginia capes. Two crew members were seriously scalded as the yacht headed toward Norfolk navy yard for treatment and inspection.
