New York April 11 W K Vanderbilt's Idle Hour at Oakdale Long Island was destroyed by a fire at 4 this morning. Mr Vanderbilt and his bride Virginia Fair were in the house but escaped unharmed. Officials believe the blaze started in the cellar accidentally. The mansion and its fittings burned within an hour. Fifteen servants and the couple escaped safely. The pair had come to New York on an early train.
