Auto Road From Carlsbad to El Paso
Carlsbad reports growing interest in a Carlsbad to El Paso auto road with a $6000 investment to make it travel ready and cut travel time to about ten hours. The route via Queen in the Guadalupe mountains Orange and Hueco Tanks would stay open most of the year, benefiting the Plains region and Me Texas. Local support from Carlsbad is expected as definite plans form. Mr J H Wise of Nadene received medical care in Lovington and is resting well at present with hopes for a quick recovery.

Baptist Association Meets at McDonald for Two Day Session
The Southeastern Baptist Association gathered at McDonald Church on Sept. 17 for a two day meeting. Rev. J. M. Roden was re elected moderator and J. A. Atrey re elected clerk. Introductory and missionary sermons were preached by Rev. R. J. Duckett and Rev. Is M. Roden. The hospitable spirit of area churches stood out as the group looked toward future work. The association will meet at Maidsray church next year.
