Mrs Helen Dye 30 of Loving was killed in a Hobbs Lovington highway wreck just after midnight. Elmer Dye her husband survived with fractures. Dennis Dunlap of Denver City suffered a fractured hip. Other relatives injured include Bessie Dye Patsy Jo Donald Dye Romaine Harding. Funeral services set in Lovington with body at Smith Yarbro Funeral Home.

September sales across Clovis auction rings reached 26,110 head, bringing a total of $2,049,805.36 and preserving the year's monthly sales over $2 million. The Clovis Cattle Commission Company moved 19,989 cattle for $1,326,367.70 in four weeks, Ranchers and Farmers Livestock Commission five weeks sold 16,121 head for $1,723,437.57, and the Four C's yards sold 457 horses though total horse sale value is not listed.

John R. King 69 was buried in Aspermont Texas after dying Saturday in Hobbs New Mexico He resided at Bilberry Ranch six miles south of Hobbs and had lived in Hobbs four years Surviving relatives include three daughters two sons four brothers and a sister The body was moved to Aspermont for burial by Nelson Green Coach.

Local flyer crashes near Lovington injuring two

Glifford Gray of Lovington ran cher crashed Sunday afternoon around five when his light plane hit a highline near the Gray ranch eight miles northeast of Lovington. He was rushed to Lea County Hospital and rests well with severe cuts and bruises. Jo Ann Gray suffered light scratches and fright after jumping to ground and returning home.

Lions Auxiliary Cake Walk Near Lea Theater

Members of the Lions Auxiliary sponsor a cake walk on Thursday November 2 at 7 30 p m in front of the Lea Theater. Proceeds support the Lovington High School senior class gift and other projects. 14 Bands to Lead ENMU Homecoming Parade

Portales New Mexico ENMU hosts a homecoming parade with 14 marching bands scheduled and four more expected.
