Lovington to Receive Daily Mail Services
Notice posted at the Lovington post office states contracts will be let to Starmail Lines for four years with six weekly trips between Carlsbad and Lovington. The plan doubles service, linking plains communities with routes of 107 to 113 miles, starting July 1 1914.

Ellis Visits Wounded Brother in Seymour Texas
A. M. Ellis traveled to Seymour Texas to aid his wounded brother who was shot while attempting to arrest a man. The bullet passed through just below the right lung but the brother could sit up and no serious results were expected. Mr. Pool of Dundee, a nephew of Ellis, joined and planned a stay on the plains.
