A Denver youth who was abducted fought captors and killed the kidnapper while the victim, who faced a $15,000 ransom, remains near death. The escape ended with law enforcement intervention and is under investigation for motives and details.
Robyn Perry, head of Oak Hill Mines and son of a coal executive, was abducted Wednesday night from his Oak Creek area home in pajamas by Greek captors demanding 15000 in gold. He escaped after a day and night of captivity at Hen Male ranch, sustaining serious exhaustion. Detectives were rushed from Denver and a special train was sent as the ransom plot unfolded.

Las Vegas report states E. W. Sele former agent at Vaughn who shot Vincent Strickland pleaded guilty to manslaughter before Judge David J. Leahy in Santa Rosa. Sele had been indicted for murder but accepted a manslaughter plea.
Santa Fe reports the New Mexico National Guard will take part in the national rifle shoot in Jacksonville Florida from October 20 to 26.
Private Hugh Clark of Company D Second Massachusetts Infantry received six months hard labor in the Fort Leavenworth disciplinary barracks and a dishonorable discharge. He wrote to a Holyoke Mass newspaper accusing officers of neglect and alleging misappropriation of company funds.
