Ranchman Happen ed to Serious Accident

W. B. Hamilton, a veteran Plains cowman, suffered a severe injury when his horse fell while chasing cattle six miles northeast of town. The accident left Hamilton with a broken leg between the knee and ankle as crews rush to aid him. Bud Melton and J Eaves acted quickly to reach him, with others including Dr. Dearduff assisting. Perry of Carlsbad and Stroud of Lakewood visited town on motorcycles the previous day.

Trembler on the Isthmus Frighten Folks

News from Colon and Panama City reports say no canal damage after last night's quake with Goethals corroborating telegraphic inquiries. Colon police note no structural damage while tremors rattled frame houses and locals camped in parks through dawn. The last major quake on the Isthmus was September 1882 with repairs needed in Panama City and Col Roswell News on.

Panama Canal Not Damaged by Earthquake Shock

The canal reports no damage from the quake with Gatun locks functioning and no irreparable harm to structures. Lt Col Siebert inspected Gatun and found no damage while tremors centered in Los Santos Province caused about $125,000 in damage.
