County Billed $145 For Prisoner Hospital Charges

Lovington Public Library receives 150 books from the State Library Commission for children and adults. The library offers afternoon hours until 5 o clock and free access. Newcomers pay a $2 deposit refundable on departure or residence establishment. under 14 need a parent signed card. Books may be kept two weeks with one renewal. two cents per day overdue.

The Wildcats and their coaches will be honored at a 6 30 p m Saturday banquet hosted by the Pep Club with the Home Economics class serving. Services Held Saturday For James L. Young

Funeral services were held in Lamesa for James L. Young of Prairieview Community. The 30 year old farmer died after a 10 day illness, after treatment in Seminole and Lubbock. He served in WWII under Captain Phil Robinson of Lovington and is survived by his widow and two children aged four and one and a half. He was a Lovington REA board member. three board members attended the service: R. B. Moore, L. E. Willingham, and Gill.

No Injuries After Collision Involving James Reed

James Reed, 17, escaped without injuries after a collision caused total loss of his vehicle. Police reported no other injuries and the incident remains under investigation.

The District Basketball tournament will be held in Eunice on February 21 22 and 23. Eunice has completed a new gymnasium and will host the district for the first time. district tournaments were held at Lovington the past two years. The County tournament for junior high teams will be held on February 15 and 16 at the gymnasium.

Judge Anderson to Draw Jury in Lovington on Dec 3

District Judge C Roy Anderson will travel to Lovington on Monday December 3 to select a jury for the December term of court. The regular panel will include 36 names and 18 will be drawn for the special venue. This marks the first Lea County jury wheel to include women with 75 of 700 names.
