Two Injured In Rig Accident At Pope Well 21
Fred R. Bonner 23 and F. C. Teague 27 of Lovington were injured Tuesday night when Pope Well 21 in the Denton Pool caved in during pipe running. Bonner suffered a dislocated shoulder and minor facial injuries while Teague sustained a fractured pelvis. Both were hospitalized at Lea General Hospital in Hobbs via Smith Yarbro ambulance.

Mrs Noble Escapes Injury In Car Flips Twice
Mrs Pearl Helen Noble escaped serious injuries when her 1953 Willis automobile flipped over twice after she reportedly fell asleep behind her husband in a truck. She was shaken but unharmed by Dr Charles Hargreaves who treated her. the car suffered extensive front top and side damage worth over $1,000. The Nobles had recently moved to Midland from Lovington.

Lovington High Band Salutes Queen At Saturday Game
Lovington High School band will perform at the football game Saturday November 21 at 1 45 p m with a queen coronation on the field at the 50 yard line. The band will play the National Anthem greet the queen then perform numbered formations and songs including Bless Them All Auld Lang Syne and Tea For Two. The program features twirlers Wanda Austen and Ed Swans and ends with SHS letters and a twirling exhibition before leaving the field. This completes the year’s football game exhibitions.

Cottonseed Meal Supports Planned by Agriculture Dept
The Agriculture Department offers to buy 1953 cottonseed meal under a price support program until further notice to offset drought aid effects. It will purchase the meal at the regular support price of 54.50 per ton from participating crushers, while selling drought relief meal to farmers at 35 per ton to help feed markets.
