A meeting of the stockholders of the canning factory is called for Saturday to appoint directors and officers for future business and the establishment of the factory. All interested in the factory’s future welfare are urged to attend.

Rules Governing Voting for United States Senators

The two houses fix by joint resolution the hour for nominations to United States senators. The presiding officer declares nominations in order and clerks call roll as names are entered. If more than one seat is open each ballot lists a vote for each office. Joint session compares nominations and, if agreed, announces the election. if not, a joint ballot follows.

The presiding officer names two tellers from each chamber and each chief clerk calls rolls for their house and senate. After a vote the lieutenant governor announces the result and the joint session ends. if no result the joint ballot continues until dissolution. The journals record the joint ballots and that the two houses met.

A lively Saturday night gathering at Prof J C Johnson’s residence drew a large young crowd. They played cross question with much laughter, enjoyed music, and heard Mrs Steward sing. Prof Johnson, recently ill, joined in the fun and all left with a happy memory of weekly get togethers.
