Mrs. Mary Jo Blakeley 33 wife of Elmo Blakeley of Hobbs will be buried at Lovington Cemetery after services at the Taylor Street Church of Christ in Hobbs. The service will be conducted by Mr. T. H. Tarbet. She died at Lea County Hospital after about ten months illness. Survivors include husband two sons her mother three sisters and several relatives. Griffin Funeral Home handles arrangements.

Lovington Man Killed In Highway Car Crash
John Morris Howell 28 of Lovington died Friday night after a high speed collision on Eunice Highway ten miles south of Hobbs. His 1939 Ford overturned four times after passing a Hobbs police officer in a 1950 Chevrolet driven by Bill Long. Howell’s body was sent to Atlanta Texas after Lea County Hospital treated head injuries.

He expects the final figures to reflect a 20 000 profit when the 36 000 county subsidy is considered.
