Ripley Display To Be In Hobbs This Thursday and Friday
A mobile museum of Robert Ripley's Believe It or Not items will tour Hobbs on Broadway near Shipp Street from 9 am to 5 pm Thursday and Friday. The exhibit features replicas of the Hope and Koh-i-Noor diamonds plus curios from distant lands including a shrunken head and an Eskimo cup. Admission is free with voluntary donations supporting the Navy Club of the United States of America aiding naval veterans.

Injuries From Weekend City Crashes Reported in Hobbs Area
Twelve people, including Hobbs residents, were injured in two-car weekend crashes near Hobbs and Seminole. Bernice E. Smallwood former Lovington negress received a 90 day suspended sentence from Justice of Peace John W. Green on February 19 for petty larceny. Authorities alleged she took a wristwatch from W. M. Beauchamp’s home while employed as a housemaid and she was returned from Clovis by State Patrolman Otis Haley. She is mother to three, with a fourth expected, and was hurried before the judge in Lea County Jail where the suspended sentence was handed down.
