The State Welfare Board will pay 10.50 per day toward care of indigent patients from the approved welfare payroll at Lea County Community Hospital. Lea County Welfare Director Paul Cushing explained the all inclusive rate cited by officials mis-stated actual charges. Hospital manager clarified the hospital bills the county and Welfare Board 7 per day for board and nursing with extras for medicines and food. If expenses exceed this, the county covers the remainder.
