Hob by Gann Kyle Taylor seek six year terms and John Campbell pursues a two year unexpired term while other incumbents J L Yarbro and John Easley are not on the ballot. Alcoholics Anonymous District Meeting Held in Bull Barn

About 100 people attended the Alcoholics Anonymous district meeting at the Bull Barn in Ovington last Sunday for a social gathering. Attendees came from Pecos Valley Clovis Alamo Gordo and Lea County as AA groups spoke on different program aspects.

Ohio Oil Co No 3 Denton in central east Lea County reaches total depth 12 117 feet in Devonian with potential 843 barrels daily through half inch choke. Texas Co No 1-AN State wildcat 2 miles north prep for cement, perforation, and producer test in the Pennsylvanian. Amerada Candle No 2 shows Devonian and Pennsylvanian production with test 89 barrels oil and 2 900 000 cf gas daily. Sharples No 1 Seth Alston wildcat drills Hueco limestone with no oil shows. Gospel Sinners At McDonald Church Meet Lea County Singers

The Lea County Gospel Singers held a meeting January 28 at the Church of God Mission Hobbs with opening prayer by Rev. Alex Wisnoski. Song leaders included L G Smalley and Elizabeth Henry among many others. special groups performed and Rev E L Hall gave the closing prayer. The next meeting will be at the McDonald Church and February 11 at the Church of the Nazarene in Tatum.

Large crowd gathers at First Baptist Church in Tatum to honor Rev F M Elliott who died January 24 in Rotan Texas at age 73. Interment in Tatum Cemetery with out of town pastors and family present. wife Bettie and children survive along with many relatives and friends.

Mrs. R. J. Hendricks hosted a five o clock turkey dinner for Mrs. J. R. Whiteley of California who is a longtime Tatum area resident. A 7 pm reception featured gifts for Whiteley on her 70th birthday and a prayer marked the evening ending with gos pel songs and community greetings.

Danglade to Build Boy and Cub Scout Hut in Lovington

F. J. Danglade begins construction of a 24 by 40 foot log cabin style Scout Hut in Lovington near City Park to serve Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. A three member Hunt Commission will supervise while a 25 year lease to city limits supports the project.

Grade School Leads In Dimes Fund

Lovington elementary pupils topped the March of Dimes drive with a total of 85.98. Room 1 at the new elementary school raised 14.46 from cookie sales on January 23, with contributions added from other rooms.

Rev Harrington to Hold Evangelistic Campaign in Seagraves

Rev Harrington and Mrs Milton Marmington will lead an evangelistic campaign at the Church of the Nazarene in Seagrave Texas from Monday February 5th to Sunday February 11th He will appear daily on the KWEW radio broadcast at 1145 to 1200 noon and return home each day.
