Mailing Charges Increased For Catalogs
The Interstate Commerce Commission approved higher mailing rates for catalogs and controlled circulation publications. Effective February 1 1954 the catalog rate rise averages about 17 percent while controlled circulation increases about 10 percent. The changes are expected to raise roughly three and a half million dollars yearly with timing set by the Post Office Department.

Police were alerted Saturday night after a woman visited the G and S Service Station on the Hobbs Highway, went to the restroom, and asked staff to call police. Car wreck found near town. owner’s Hobbs address listed
Police discovered a wrecked car at 4 50 a m Sunday five miles south of town and towed it to Woodward Garage. The vehicle belonged to Mrs Helen Adams of 1101 East Marlin Hobbs. She said Joe Burks drove it to the state line for gas and did not return. The car had rolled over with no injuries.
