Six Arrested After Lovington Drinking Incident

Six men were arraigned in Justice of Peace Drayton Wasson’s court after a drinking and fighting incident at the Smoke House Bar. Johnny Fisher and Genaro Tijerina each fined 75 dollars for drunk and disorderly conduct and fighting. Eugenio Garcia fined 25 dollars for drunk and disorderly conduct. Gas Line Expansion Planned in Southeast New Mexico

Southern Union Gas Company will start work next week on a 12 inch diameter pipeline extending about 21 miles from the Shell Oil plant at Bell Lake north to the Artesia Eunice transmission line. Built by Mermis Construction of Artesia, the line will carry over 40 million cubic feet of gas daily, supplying Lovington Carlsbad Artesia and Eunice regions.
