Noseff Services Set Today For Pfc. Ronnie Noseff
Funeral services for Pfc. Ronnie L. Noseff age 19 of Hobbs will be held today at 2 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with burial in Prairiehaven cemetery. He died after being wounded in Vietnam where he served since November. He is Hobbs’ first Vietnam War casualty and will be buried with full military honors. He attended Hobbs High School until June when he joined the Army.

Dr. Bob Woods a Tucumcari pastor will begin a revival at First Baptist Church on Monday October 3 and run through October 9. Weekday services are at 10 am and 7 30 pm daily with Sunday services at the usual time. Al Tucker the church's musical director will direct the singing. Dr Woods earned his graduate work at Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth Texas.

September rainfall totaled 0.38 inches with most falling in the first week leaving the rest of the month dry. By month end the year-to-date total stood at 15.20 inches, up from 14.82 inches at the end of August.
Mill Site Selected for Clovis Meat Plant

Oil Well Fire Extinguished Near Carlsbad
Red Adair and crew used 200 pounds of nitroglycerin to extinguish an oil well fire near Carlsbad after a gas formation was struck at 11,000 feet. The well exploded and flames rose 450 feet before the blaze was controlled. gas remains to be capped.
