Artesia Men Bound Over For District Trial
Two Artesia men Joe Cruz and Frank Sanchez were bound over for district court on two counts each of assaulting a police officer from the April 9 disturbance near Artesia’s warehouse. Cruz faced an added charge for stabbing a state policeman, later dismissed after testimony from Officer James Bogle. Bogle sustained a minor back wound during the incident as 52 striking workers continued a long running protest over union representation. Cruz is free on his own recognizance. Sanchez’s bond was set at $5,000.
