Collision at Love Street and Avenue E Causes Minor Injury
Two cars, a 1963 Chevrolet and a 1957 Ford, collided at Love St. and Ave. E causing about $850 in damage. Fidel Rodriguez and Gary Arp drove the vehicles. Arp’s two year old daughter D Ann was only slight ly shaken and not hospitalized. Ford damage about $450, Chevrolet $400. Ford skidded 20 feet, Chevrolet 16 feet. no citations issued.

Twister Destroys Frame Building East of Lovington
A small wooden frame building beside Denver City Highway east of Lovington was destroyed by a probable twister. State Patrolman M. J. Payne said the structure was lifted and scattered 20 to 30 feet onto the highway. Wreckers removed debris, clearing the road in about 30 minutes after the sheriff’s office was notified at 9 30. The wind storm hit for about 15 minutes after a 9 p.m. thunder shower, with no other damage reported.

Hobbs Woman Sentenced and Juvenile Pleas in Court
A Hobbs woman Goldie Mae Garton aged 39 was found guilty as an accessory to grand larceny and sentenced to the state penitentiary for less than six months to more than three years. Juvenile Benny Lee Cle of Hobbs pled guilty to petty larceny and was to Springer after the boy said he could not do anything for his son. Additional defendants included Thomas Petty White 34 Hobbs who pled guilty to gery and was sentenced to not less than one nor more five years in the state pen with 60 days suspended for good behavior. Charlie Roundtree 34 of ver City pled not guilty to support and a trial was postponed. Jackie Brown 21 of and Milton E. McClellan Paso pled guilty to forgery but sentencing was postponed to May 20. Seven Hobbs juveniles Thomas Lee Barbee Gary Roberts Ian Clayton and Fritz Weyns Knotts were also mentioned.
