Flood Threat Poses For Parts Of New Mexico
Deep snow and continued cool weather raise flood risks in parts of New Mexico. A joint National Weather Service and Soil Conservation Service report says high water and inundation of lowlands likely after mid May, with forecasts over 150 percent for many watersheds and above 200 percent for the upper Pecos River drainage. Snow remains well above average with high water content and melting delayed through April and early May. The most probable peak flow should occur in the third and fourth weeks of May.

Lea 4 H Horse Show Set For Lovington
The 10th annual Lea County 4 H horse show will be held in Lovington on Saturday May 12 at 8 a.m. mountain daylight time. The event features halter English and western classes for youth, with hunter jumper courses and riding pattern outside the arena. Roswell Woman Dies In Wreck
A Roswell woman Edna Threadgill aged 24 was killed and Hap E Leatherman 39 of Albuquerque died in separate crashes. Edna was a passenger in a car driven by Ernest Mitchell 31 of Roswell who was injured and cited for homicide by motor vehicle by reckless driving after colliding with a truck driven by Franklin Patton 33 of Los Angeles. Leatherman’s car went out of control and crashed into a tree injuring his 10 year old son James who was reported in critical condition at the Bernalillo County Medical Center.

Seaton Guilty Of Carlsbad Murder In New Mexico Trial
