Prospective voters may register for the May primary until 5 p.m. on April 14 at listed city and county offices including Hobbs Fort Jal Eunice Oil Center Ta tum Lovington and the County Clerk's office. Special registrars will operate from 9:30 a.m. April 10 at the Clerk's office to assist late registrants. Registration has been slow with only a few people per day.

Three Bullets Stop Roswell Gunman Suspect

Hobbs Fugitive Nabbed By Federal Officials
A 38 year old Hobbs man, Ernest H. Perry, arrested by federal officials in Ajo Arizona. Perry had been a fugitive since March 1957 after forging two U S Treasury checks worth 156 dollars each belonging to his ex wife. A bench warrant followed his failure to appear and bond forfeiture. He and his wife had divorced weeks before the forgeries were carried out.
