Left wing Indonesian students mobbed the American embassy in Jakarta denouncing SEATO and charging U S arms to rebels. Ambassador Howard Jones met a delegation and denied aid to rebels noting weapons can be bought internationally. He pledged to do all he can and said SEATO would not interfere. In Singapore rebels alleged Soviet ships supplied Jakarta with tanks landing craft mortars and aircraft parts and pilots were being trained to fly MIGs.

Todd Remains To Be Buried In Chicago
Producer Mike Todd will be buried in a Chicago suburb this afternoon in a quiet private service attended by his widow Elizabeth Taylor and close relatives. Hollywood reports say Miss Taylor appeared pale as she flew to Chicago last night. Todd’s 90 year old mother Sophia Goldbogen remains unaware of his death in an Hollywood old age home. An Aeronautics board investigation into the New Mexico crash that killed Todd and three crewmen will be completed today.

Local Negro held for Shamrock station theft
Police say a 25 year old man, held in Lovington under three weeks, confessed to burglarizing the Crows Shamrock Service station on March 11. Chief James Robinson reported the arrest at about 8 30 am Monday. The suspect admits stealing cigarettes motor oil and other goods but denies taking money from the coke machine.

Plane crash Kills Eight in Florida Everglades
A Braniff DC-7 four engine airliner crashed in the Florida Everglades soon after takeoff from Miami airport. Eight people were killed and 16 survived as the fuselage burned but some passengers escaped. a recovery effort followed by helicopter and ambulance. The flight was bound for Rio de Janeiro with stops en route in Panama Lima and Sao Paulo.

Burglary Strikes Tatum Home East of Town
Thieves ransacked the home of Billy Jim Smith east of Tatum stealing about 2000 dollars worth of goods. A .38 pistol a 30 06 rifle a Remington shotgun a Bell tape recorder a typewriter boots a Gibson steel guitar and other items were reported missing. Entry appeared through a rear window after 4 pm with a front door left open. Deputy Wendell Green noted items were taken after dark.

Tatum Station Robbed for Seventy Dollars
Bold thieves stole between 70 and 80 dollars from Blackies Service Station and Cafe in Tatum. The act occurred Sunday between 11:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Entry was gained by snapping a front door lock and smashing a door between the station and cafe. Money taken was small change from the juke box cigarette machine marble machine and pay telephone. Police report the take was from these machines and the criminals used force to access the premises.
