New Mexico Air National Guard members activated January 26 train across the country and at Kirtland AFB. Lt. Col. Fred J. Fink says continuation training will better qualify pilots for tactical support tasks. Half of the F100 pilots finished the course, the rest at Stead AFB this week. Each pilot will spend a week at Cannon AFB for night attack and heavy load training. About 60 more officers and air crews are at base training.
Gov. Nelson A. Rockefeller declares he is not a presidential candidate and will not be drafted. He says a Nixon candidacy is favored by many leaders but he will support the GOP nominee and speak on major issues, including Vietnam, in quiet party councils and public forums.
Israeli invasion forces penetrated along a 200 mile front into Jordan in a daylong operation to avenge guerrilla raids and then began a planned withdrawal. The clash left 15 Israelis dead and 70 wounded while Israel said it killed at least 150 El Fatah fighters and destroyed 15 tanks, with two captured.
About 10,000 American troops launched five drives to regain the initiative after the lunar new year offensive. U S and enemy casualties were reported as the operation spread across five provinces near Saigon. The offensives include actions along the Beng Son Plain Phan Thiet An Khe near the central highlands and Bien Hoa Long Binh near Saigon.
Gov. Cargo pledged executive assistance to expand farm produce cooperatives in Mora Valley and Penasco. Two cooperatives formed under HELP aim for 400 acres each for vegetable production and marketing with $53,000 loan requests to Farmers Home Administration. Mercure cited $250 per acre potential income and self sufficiency through commercial sale and use of culls for livestock feed.
James Hindman stacks debris from a truckload of soft drinks that toppled onto the street near the Coca Cola warehouse at 702 South Main around 9 30 this morning. The truck jumped a curb while rounding the corner and about five cases were lost.

Washington AP reports Mc Kinley Mora Rio Arriba San doval and Taos counties in New Mexico are included in the food aid program with potential allocations for residents in need.
A delay in automatic camera equipment for drivers license photos may force the state to issue permanent licenses without photographs. The issue stems from a court suit filed by Dek Processes Inc. over bid procedures, risking a long procurement dispute into April.
