County To Keep Up Home Maintenance At Airport
County commissioners agreed to place an electronic homing device at Lovington airport on full time service. Smith Electronics will be paid 60 dollars monthly for weekly maintenance checks. The device was installed about four years ago at the local airport. They considered extending runways at the Tatum airport and asked the city to help with runway maintenance by sweeping the paving. Marion Foster urged naming Hobbs resident Mrs Pat Sonnamaker to the county registration board where current members include Joan Gordon Raye Anderson and Bettye Taylor. Anderson resigning Sonnamaker is the Republican alternate and Shirley Reese the Democratic alternate. The request was taken under advisement.
