A two car crash in the 100 block of South Main Monday around 11 a.m. caused about 300 in damage with no injuries. A 1966 Olds driven by Carla Grebon of Hobbs sustained about 100 in damage, and a 1957 Ford driven by Annie Sue Coleman of East Star Route Lovington sustained about 200 in damage.

Spears Rites Held for Lea County Rancher Charley Spears
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today for Charley B. Spears 80 a longtime Lea County rancher who died Sunday at about 3 20 a.m. at his Lovington area home. The Anti och Baptist Church rites were conducted by Revs J C Quarels and O L DeWess with burial in the Anti och Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Pearl a son Charles H Spears two foster sons Johnny Smith four daughters and six grandchildren.
