Lea County Electric Cooperative noted no major damage though some conductors malfunctioned and poles broke. Service interruptions occurred but were quickly fixed and no damage estimate was available this morning.

A one day search for Mr. and Mrs. George Hatfield of Carlsbad ended when they called in to say they were stranded by snow at Sitting Bull Falls in the Guadalupe Mountains northwest of Carlsbad. They had planned a camping trip near Cloudcroft and were reported missing after Hatfield failed to return to work. About a foot of snow had recently fallen in the Sitting Bull Falls area.
