Three Soldiers Held In Lovington For AWOL from Camp Walters

Three young soldiers Leonard Ray Jackson 20 John Lester Kennedy 18 and James Edward Schorsh 18 were arrested in Lovington Monday night after being detained in Portales earlier. Police received word from state police and Texas military authorities that they wereWanted for AWOL and they are held in Lea County jail awaiting military processing.

Lovington Science Fair Winners Enter Regional Roswell

Thirty six Lovington Schools students who earned ribbons at the All School Science Fair will advance to the Regional Science Fair in Roswell on March 23. The event drew 400 to 500 attendees, with 298 displays from grades 1 through 12.
