Two boys drown in irrigation ditch near Albuquerque
In Albuquerque two young brothers Ricky Montoya aged three and Teddy Turietta aged two fell into a fast flowing irrigation ditch while playing nearby. Rescue attempts failed and both boys died before dark at Presbyterian Hospital. Teddy was the son of Fernando Turietta and Ricky the son of Max Montoya.

Norwegian Minister To Speak Here at First Methodist
The Rev Kjell Knutson a young Norwegian Methodist minister will speak at 11 oclock Sunday service at the First Methodist Church on a local speaking tour. He lives in Oslo Norway and is spending a year in the United States on furlough from missionary service. He has served as superintendent of Eastern Malaya Methodism and pastor in Kuantan Taiping and Raab and led the Methodist Girls School. He studied at the University of Oslo Garrett Biblical Institute Northwestern University and earned a bachelor of divinity and a master of arts.

Two Killed Near Gallup In Highway Crash
State Police reported five killed near Gallup New Mexico in a two vehicle crash on U S 66 about 30 miles east of town. Roads were slick with one inch of snow and the site lay between Ton of the World and Thoreau near Thunderbird.
