Silver City AP reports experts at the New Mexico Institute on Alcoholism clash over whether alcoholism is primarily psychological or physiological. Hobbs vice chair J S McAdams argues it is not purely psychological, saying body and mind influence each other. Navajo official August Shattuck and Fred Martinez cite unemployment and education as major factors, though Shattuck says Indians show no physical difference in alcohol effects compared to other races.
