Million Dollar Pipe Links Empire Abo to Caprock Fields
A $1 million eight inch pipeline will run 45 miles from the Empire Abo field in Eddy County to Caprock in Lea County, linking major New Mexico oil plays. When complete it is expected to move 20 000 barrels daily and ease eastern pipeline congestion while boosting drilling in the region. State Highway Dept Paid Lea County For Highway Rights Of Way
The State Highway Department paid Lea County property owners $10,711 for highway rights of way in the last five months. Chief Highway Engineer L D Wilson said that since January payments to property owners in 23 New Mexico counties total $1,373,365, with overall right of way payments since January 1958 at $3,655,224. The January 1958 date marks the start of periodic public reports on right of way costs. In this period payments to Lea County include W H Castleberry 7121 for land and residence, E H Power 50 for removal of a sign, Walter F Dyar 3148 for land and improvements, and Annie B Oglesby 391 for land and move sign.
