Bartie Reynolds, 77, of Lovington, injured in a Saturday night crash that killed James Callaway, 68, and Coy Fisher, 42, was reported improving at Lovington Lea General Hospital. Other injured include John Sonny Neeld released earlier, Dennis Brown, 2, and his mother, with Mrs Brown also recovering. State Patrolman Payne sought witnesses as investigators noted a wet highway and no skid marks.

Carol Sue Markham, daughter of Mrs. Sue Markham, is the sixth candidate entered in the Miss Lovington Pageant sponsored by the Lovington Jaycees. Woman Hospitalized After Two-Car Lovington Crash
A Hobbs woman Mildred Joann Tidwell 23 was hospitalized with a fractured pelvis after a two car collision on North Main Street Lovington. A male passenger Tidwell’s father and two others received minor injuries. The crash occurred at 1 45 p m when Tidwell attempted a U turn and pulled into a Thunderbird. The Chevrolet and the Thunderbird were total losses.

Merchants Receptive To C C Yule Program
Members of the Retail Trades Planning Committee are contacting businessmen to fund the Chamber of Commerce Christmas program.
