UPI reports Gemini 4 may extend its mission to surpass the Soviet time record. Edward White and James McDivitt could add 24 hours and 15 to 16 orbits, targeting a 120 hour flight.
State Representative Finis Heidel of Lea County will discuss the New Mexico Junior College election on KLEA’s Man About Town program Monday at 8 30 am. The junior college levy, covering Lovington Tatum Hobbs and Eunice districts, goes before voters Tuesday. Citizens may call in questions and Heidel will respond during extended airtime.
UPI bulletin says astronauts James McDivitt and Edward White reported sighting a second satellite from space Saturday night. The remark adds to the day's spaceflight milestones as the crew observes objects orbiting Earth.

Federal agents took command of a four state manhunt after a bank robber shot eight times, killing three people in Big Springs Nebraska. Otto Mauser, 74, identified the suspect as a tall 35 year old, about six foot two, 170 pounds, wearing a blue suit and carrying a briefcase. Police tracked the killer through the South Platte River region as peace officers from Nebraska Kansas Wyoming and Colorado swept the area.
U S Navy planes bombed a North Vietnamese port facility and coal yard, the first such raid on an energy target since February. In a separate action, South Vietnamese government forces, backed by U S helicopters, killed 48 Viet Cong near Saigon. 4 government troops died and 4 were wounded. Premier Quat's interior and economy ministers reportedly agreed to resign to resolve the cabinet crisis, with Suu initially blocking the shuffle. North Viet Nam broadcast claims China will send troops if needed, while pledging to win the war with its own forces.
Two New Mexico entrants nearly won Miss USA with Miss Jane Nelson of Tularosa finishing first runner up and Miss Jody Baldwin of Clovis third overall. Sue Ann Downey of Ohio won the title with Miss Nelson noting Arizona and New Mexico contestants elevated to the final five.
About 10 000 Dominican rebels and supporters gathered in Santo Domingo Park denouncing U S intervention and President Johnson while cheering rebel leader Francisco Caamano who vowed to defend the 1963 constitution. The crowd also booed Generals Imbert Bareras and Bosch as U S and OAS mediators pursued a peaceful settlement amid cannon-fire investigations and casualties in the rebel-held area.
Rosco Fletcher of the State Farm Bureau told about fifty Lea County farmers Friday night that the cotton program has not done what it should. He compared the Harold Cooley Bill with the Farm Bureau plan and warned of rising surpluses and losses to foreign competition. He noted subsidies to mills end in 1966 and urged lower production costs to compete.
Senator Clinton P. Anderson of New Mexico states the Gemini four flight and Edward White’s space walk could compress Apollo plans. He notes potential border space ventures and predicts the lunar program may move earlier, spurring faster future space activity and TV reporting from surveys.
Mrs. Manuel C. Bustamante is among the first 400 Americans evacuated from Santo Domingo by the U S Navy. Her husband Sgt Bustamante remains in the Dominican Republic. She described hotel guards after an explosion and the capture of two Dominican newsmen attempting to leave with evacuees. The Bustamantes are visiting in Dunn, North Carolina.
