Local Girls Attend Camp For Twirlers
Three Lovington girls attended a six day twirling camp in Memphis Texas. Attendees were Jackie Rainwater Gail Hopkins and Rita Wallace who will be twirlers at Central Junior High. Instructors included Bennie Evans Bob Murphy Nancy Mitchel and Sandy Palmer. Rita Wallace won three first place awards and one second place award.

Three Arrests Reported In City Area
Ira Rufus Campbell of Denver City, 53, was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with driving while intoxicated with bond set at $200. Homer Gene Anderson, 37, of Carroll's Motel in Tatum, faced charges of passing worthless checks with bond at $2,000. Roger Lynn Ranne, 26, of 120 East Avenue J, was arrested on assault and battery, posted bond, was released, and the charge was later dropped.
