Bus Driver Hijacked to Oklahoma in Lone Incident
Lindsay Texas UPI reports bus driver Eddie Holland carried two passengers a man and a woman one woman exited downtown the other man hijacked the bus asking how far to Oklahoma. Near Gainesville the hijacker diverted off the highway and led Holland to a creek then a nearby house where police were called.

J C Kirkpatrick owner of Kirkpatrick's Finn Station on North Main Street received a severe jaw laceration after mistaking fireworks sounds for an alarm. Harrell Pleads Guilty in ENMU Embezzlement Case
Gene W. Harrell former ENMU vice president for business affairs pleaded guilty to embezzling 14400 from the university and was sentenced to two years with the last five suspended he may be paroled after one third served. The charges cover 400 monthly USPS rental payments for campus postal facilities from 1970 to 1973. He faces 71 counts totaling about 133000 in an indictment awaiting trial.
