A former Lovington resident Mrs. Matt Morris died Sunday in Earth Texas after a short illness. She was 177 years old and grandmother of Janisne Dearley of Lovington. She and her husband lived in Lovington in 1919 and 1920 when she worked for the telephone company and he helped build Lovington’s first gin with ties to the telephone and light companies.
