Wool prices remained unchanged in Boston last week as the U S Department of Agriculture reported a quiet close to the year. About three carloads were sold with Graded fine staple Ohio Delaine at 1 40 clean basis and 56 58 staple and good French combing Ohio wool at 1 05 clean on a core test.

Frank J Vannerson aged about 85 died Wednesday January 1 in a Tulsa hospital and was buried Saturday January 4 at 10 30 a m in Tulsa. He was often seen by friends in Lovington and was the father of Mrs Vera Reed.
A petroleum engineer for the Ju Conservation Commission will study a water flood project for the Caprock Queens pool in Chaves County. Dan Nutter obtained permission for Cities Service Co to inject water through four intake wells to east production from one well. Other OCC filings include Standard Oil Co of Texas requesting production into a common tank battery for five cases in Eddy County Atoka pool and El Paso Natural Gas Co seeking extension of time for annual deliverability and shut-in tests in the San Juan area along with gas allowables for 237 wells in San Juan and Rio Arriba counties.
Army Secretary Brucker disclosed an offer to Lt. Gen. James Gavin of a fourth star and a choice between remaining as research chief or commanding the U S Seventh Army in Germany. Gavin, retiring to write on defense needs, weighed retirement or accepting the reshaped post.

The State Supreme Court upheld a state law authorizing foreclosure of judgment liens. It affirmed District Judge John R. At the regular meeting Tuesday night City Fathers accepted a bid of 2034 for a water well pump from W H B Pump and Machinery Inc as the lowest offer. W H B also received a contract to develop a new well for 360. Smith Machinery Co submitted a bid for the work but was 90 higher. The session ended after routine bill payments in under one hour.
