ASCS chairman Fort outlines 1971 farm program details including signup March 1 to April 9 for feedgrain, wheat, and cotton. Tentative setasides of 20 percent for feedgrain, 60 to 75 percent wheat, and 20 percent cotton are planned, with final decisions before March 1. Participants gain flexibility to plant non quota crops on remaining land while maintaining conserving bases.

U S senators and business leaders urged Wednesday that New Mexico be added to Railpax system routes. Witnesses argued current Santa Fe routes would harm communities if Albuquerque and others are excluded. Governor Bruce King warned of a disservice to the state if Albuquerque is cut from the plan.
