Religious Objector Sentenced in Albuquerque Case
Danny Lee Stevenson a 23 year old Jehovah's Witness minister and conscientious objector was sentenced Friday to three years in prison by U S Judge Waldo Rogers. He pleaded guilty to refusal to report for civilian work in lieu of induction and said his religious beliefs forbid war or non combatant hospital duty. Stevenson and was assigned to Denver General Hospital after registering with the Cortez Colorado local Selective Service Board.

Crash Damage Totals $950 After Monroe Street Collision
A two-vehicle crash Friday at First Street and Monroe Street caused $950 in damages. Catherine Avery White of 901 W Harrison drove a 1958 Chevrolet Station Wagon and hit Francise A. Hawthorne in a 1961 Chrysler, which skidded 20 feet. White suffered minor facial injuries and was treated and released. no charges were filed.

Mrs. Perrys Father Dies in Brownfield
J. D. Pharr father of Mrs. Val Perry of Lovington died December 29 1962 in Brownfield Texas. Born in Jackson County Mississippi in 1885 the burial was in Brownfield Cemetery January 1. He lived in Brownfield forty years and was a Baptist member for fifty four years. Survivors include his wife ten children 26 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
