At West Central and Eighth Street intersection Friday two cars collided. The crash caused about 1200 in damages and minor injuries to passengers Jimmy Newton 17 and Robin Elizabeth Roller 4. Benny Roller 26 from Tucson driving a 1959 Ford and Joe Lee Freeman 19 of 1017 West Monroe drove a 1957 Plymouth. Freeman failed to see Roller before entering the intersection and Roller attempted to beat him across. Roller was cited for failure to yield right of way. Newton's car sustained 900 in damage and Roller's 500.

Deferment Granted in Hobbs Manslaughter Case
John Henry Morris of Hobbs had his sentence for manslaughter deferred by Dist. Judge George T. Harris. No sentencing date was set as Harris retires and George Reese takes over. The victim, Bill Reddin, died eight days after being shot at Smokehouse Pool Hall on February 10.
