Lea County gins produced 325 bales in the past week with 209 bales of Lea County cotton. Supervisor Bruce Jackson notes weather may allow field work this week as the county totals reach 22,929 bales for the year, 18,281 of which are Lea County grown. Last year at this date 25,472 bales had been ginned. Harvest is 69 percent complete and about 93 percent of last week’s ginned cotton was machine harvested.
