Large San Juan Basin well claims top production
The Tom Bolack No 10 well in Horseshoe Canyon west of Farmington is hailed as the largest producing oil well in the San Juan Basin. It averaged 126 barrels per hour, 3 024 barrels per day, with an open flow of 8 382 barrels daily, and a bottom hole pressure drop of 93 pounds. Production comes from two sands between 1450 and 1600 feet after testing begun two years ago by Bolack and an Arizona firm.
