Funeral Services Held For Mrs McDonough
Funeral services were held at 10:00 this morning for Mrs Amy McDonough 63 at Lovington Cemetery. She died Saturday afternoon in Lovington Lea General Hospital after a period of illness. A longtime resident of Lovington area she lived five miles south of Lovington on the Arkansas Junction road. Survived by husband John Reverend Father Damien Zimmerman of St Thomas Catholic Church officiated. Casketbearers were Doc Bowman Joe Witherspoon Keith Jones Russ DeMore Sonny Williams and Earl Drexler.

Mrs Montez Dies After Long Illness
Maria de Jesus Montez 51 of 514 North Second died Saturday night at Lovington Sea General Hospital after an extended illness. Survived by a band Concepcion and several sons and daughters. Funeral services held 11:00 today at St Thomas Catholic Church Rev Damien Zimmerman officiating. Burial in Lovington Cemetery Smith Rogerson Funeral Home directed the services.

Four people die in separate New Mexico crashes. Shelly Hitchcock 4 and Jimmy 9 from Mount Enterprise Texas die when a family car leaves U S 66 in Tijeras Canyon near Albuquerque. Their parents and two other children survive. Other victims include Lewis Erlich 75 of Albuquerque who died from injuries on I 40 near Albuquerque and James Laughing 20 of Sanders Arizona in a collision on U S 666 near Gallup.
