Funeral services were held for W E Bunny Flint of Las Cruces, a longtime New Mexico State University Extension Service employee and former Lea County extension agent. Flint, who died December 23 at home, worked 27 years in extension and retired in 1961. He authored beef cattle improvement publications. He is survived by his wife Elaine, daughter Mrs Tom Griswold, mother Mrs Annie Maud Flint, a brother, four sisters, and three grandchildren.

By Wednesday morning a new front is expected and the pattern brings partly cloudy skies and a chance of rain or snow across New Mexico. Virgil Brodie a 59 year old Keeth Gas Company employee died when a tractor and trailer left Highway 70 near San Patricio and plunged into a ravine. The butane laden trailer separated from the tractor and the driver was trapped and consumed by flames. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Brodie survived by his wife two sons a brother and a sister and seven grandchildren.
Santa Fe Governor Cargo says Attorney General Maloney erred in ruling 18 year olds cannot vote in the 1972 presidential primary. He cites federal voting act amendments extending franchise to under 21 for primary and general elections and hints at possible court action.
New Mexico Senator Joseph Montoya endorsed Attorney General James Maloney's ruling that 16 year olds may register to vote in the 1972 general election. Congressman Manuel Lujan Jr and Gov elect Bruce King also commented, with Evans to send guideline copies to county clerks.
Atty. Gen. James Maloney ruled that 16-year-olds may register after Jan. 1 for the 1972 general election. The opinion, urged by Gov. Care, notes state law allows registration once legally qualified and suggests using a special stamp to show ineligibility until age 18.
Firemen answered an alarm at Kimbell Construction Company, former Smith Machinery, with slight damage to office chair upholstery. Chief Wayne Benson says the blaze, probably started by a cigarette, was quickly extinguished by volunteers.

AP report from Phoenix states two officers died in separate incidents. Albert R. Bluhm, 40, was shot while stopping a pickup camper on West Grand Ave near Bali Hi Motel and gasped into radio for help. Patrolman Dale Crist Stone, 25, died en route after his motorcycle collided with a car while responding.
Hugh Allen 78 died Tuesday morning at Lovington Lea General Hospital after a brief illness. An icemaker at Lovington Ice Company he lived at 500 East Adams. Survived by son R C Allen and daughter Wilma Smith both of Waxahachie Texas, sister Mrs Elnora Andrews of Waxahachie, 38 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
