A subversive Activities Control Board examiner recommends declaring the International Union of Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers a Communist infiltrated organization ineligible to bargain. The five member board will consider the recommendation after hearings. Kennedy announced the action dating to 1955 with extensive witness testimony and thousands of pages in the record. The union, expelled from AFL CIO years ago, is alleged to be under Communist influence and to provide a foothold in U.S. labor. Membership cited as about fifty thousand.

State Tax Forms Due in New Mexico
State income tax forms are expected to reach residents by next Tuesday. Director Frank E. McCulloch announced that about 170 16 of the new forms have been mailed this week. The 1961 Legislature raised the state income tax rate 50 percent and approved a withholding plan similar to the federal payroll deduction. Nearly 20 000 employers have opted in. He noted 1961 returns to be filed in 1962 will show limited refunds due to the half year of payroll deduction.
Weatherday report details frigid to mild regional changes
The bulletin notes a warming trend Friday with highs mainly 35 to 50 degrees and lows down to the teens in some valleys. Northern pockets reach near zero tonight while Southern New Mexico sees fair skies and a warmer east portion Friday. Two Men Rescued After Subfreezing Mountain Ordeal
State Police found Miguel Hebert and Gerald Nolan, both of Albuquerque, walking in the Sandia foothills after spending the night in the mountains. They said they entered Tuesday, sheltered in a cave, built a fire, and had sandwiches as a search party scoured the area. Both emerged Wednesday morning unharmed.

Skiing Good At New Mexico Resorts In Season Report
Good skiing conditions persist at New Mexico resorts according to the State Tourist Division. Santa Fe reports 18 to 35 inches of base snow with all lifts operating and roads in good condition. Other areas La Madera Sierra Blanca Cloudcroft and Red River show solid snow and full facilities while Tans faces two to five feet of snow though a new chair lift is awaiting completion. Raton reports 12 to 24 inches base with new powder 4 to 5 inches. Basin operates daily through New Year then weekends. Sipapu has no report.
