Agriculture Secretary Bergland agreed to meet with farm strike representatives if governors select leaders from their states. Governors from Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota and Wyoming pressed the administration to negotiate as farmers seek higher prices and relief from losses. Bergland cited spontaneity of the movement and said no date or location was set, with a Dec. 28 deadline for lists of participating farmers.
Lovington Monument Energy Corp said its operating earnings rose 116 percent for the fiscal second quarter ended Oct 31 1977 as revenues climbed 31 percent from a year earlier. Income from continuing operations before extraordinary items was $67000 in the latest period.

City police investigate after a 17 year old girl is wounded in the right arm and face. She was treated at Llano Estacado Medical Center after a shotgun was used at a trailer on Love Street at 4 17 a m. Glass debris clouded the scene as investigators determine cause and extent of injuries. The investigation continues.
A wind driven prairie fire started near Kershaw's K-Bar feed lots south of Lovington Friday afternoon and swept across ranchland. It scorched about eight thousand acres, destroying fencing and corrals but sparing major dwellings. Fire crews from Lovington and nearby towns contained the blaze by mid afternoon and fully under control by evening.
District Judge John Walker of Carls postponed sentencing pending a presentencing report and evaluation from the Department of Hospitals and Institutions. Rondie Miles pled guilty to armed robbery for allegedly robbing Jenny Hughes of $400 and a carton of cigarettes at the A and S Convenience Store in Eunice on May 22. Miles was before Judge Walker in Lovington and was represented by Bruce Larsen.
College of the Southwest announces a seven member advisory committee linking CSW Students in Free Enterprise with the Lea County business community.
