At 6 45 pm Thursday 17 members of the Tatum Volunteer Fire Department fought a blaze at the Big Smokey Cafe on Highway 380. The fire started from a spark igniting a grease screen in the kitchen. No injuries were reported among Mrs Pepper Standley or the staff. The cafe owned by L T Pepper Standley suffered fire and smoke damage. loss estimate unavailable.
