Scout Training Sessions Held in Lea County

Word is received of the death of Edward Erickson father of Mrs. Glenn Chamness of Lovington. He died at 7 30 Tuesday evening at Maddock North Dakota. Funeral services are set for 2 p m Friday at Maddock Funeral Home. The Chamness family has been at his bedside for two weeks. They reside at 825 West Aspen.

DAMP WEATHER HALTS LATE HARVEST IN LEA COUNTY
A low pressure system brought light rain to Lovington area delaying the 1969 cotton harvest. Lea County cotton 70 to 80 percent complete. 7,805 bales ginned this year. Funeral services set for Herman Roscoe Jacobs Friday
Funeral services are planned Friday at 2 p m for Herman Roscoe Jacobs who died instantly in a Northern Crossroads area highway crash Tuesday morning. The Smith Rogers Chapel will host the service with Rev Edwin Crapell of First United Methodist Church officiating.
