The fourteenth annual One Stop Hereford Association Show and Sale in Lovington on December 1 1966 saw 37 bulls average 483 the second highest in association history. The sale total reached 20865 with ten females averaging 300. Les Bates Carlsbad led bulls buying eight for 5760. top bulls sold at 900 each. Champion bull and top seller went to Les Bates. Champion female sold for 295 to H G West. Major female buyers included Mikey Gilmore Lovington J G Miller Vega and E D Holt Tatum.

Accidents, Hit and Run Reported in Lovington
Lovington Sheriff and Lovington Police logged two accidents and a hit and run in the last 24 hours. A 1963 Scout on the west side of Lea County Electric Cooperative was damaged about 15 dollars when a blue and white pickup backed into it. A two car collision caused 1400 dollars in damage between a 1964 Buick driven by William Lee Hurley and a 1958 Chevrolet station wagon driven by William Shurley, both 17, at Aspen and West Main. The Buick was waiting to left turn when struck. Shurley claimed not seen in time. The driver of the second vehicle received a ticket for following too closely.
