Former Resident Dies In Accident Near Eunice
Billy Don Wells nineteen formerly of Levington died on arrival at Hobbs Lea General Hospital after being struck on State Road 176 east of Eunice by a 1969 Chevrolet driven by James Everett Mulkey forty six of Tulavista California. Mulkey said Wells lay on the roadway and he could not avoid the collision amid oncoming traffic. Passengers John Mulkey fifteen Judy Mulkey twenty and James R Mulkey twenty two, all California residents, were unharmed. State patrolman Floyd Toy investigates. No funeral details available.
