Irene Scoggins of Eunice pleaded not guilty in Portales justice court to kidnapping her two grandchildren from their father. She was held on a $500 bond after arrest by Lea County authorities. Two Car Wreck North of Levington Causes Damage
A Sunday two car collision 7.5 miles north of Levington on SR 18 damaged two vehicles estimated at 350 dollars. Levington driver Warren Fincher 49 in a 1956 Buick collided with Frances Dearman 26 of Lovington in a 1954 Pontiac who attempted to pass. Dearman was arrested for driving while intoxicated and lacking a license.
